Who's your Bid Response Guru?

There's no sugar coating this:

the Right Bid Manager or Guru will achieve bid success and business growth

while the Wrong Bid Manager will stunt the growth of a business.

Period.

Buyers use competitive bidding for two major reasons: (1) To get the best supplier and (2) To get the best price. Indeed, competitive bidding has gotten even more competitive as organisations continually up-skill their Bid Gurus to compete effectively.

Effective Bid Managers must be able to discern potential win-opportunities and take a Bid-No-Bid decision (read here why you should not submit a bid for every tender). They have to be able to position the business in the most advantageous way to secure the bid. They must thoroughly understand the bid requirements and be able to articulate a powerfully persuasive proposal that is technically sound and commercially appealing while making a profit for the business.

Indeed this is no small feat. That is why a Bid TEAM (and not a single 'Guru') is necessary and establishing the RIGHT bid team is crucial. Two reasons why a Bid Team made up of the right people is crucial:

A tender document is exhaustive and covers many different areas so the team will be required to bring in their different areas of expertise in putting together a holistic Bid Response.

Also, the time for completing and submitting a Bid Response is usually limited and so a strategic Team will work best to complete an effective proposal before the Bid deadline.

What are you doing to up-skill your Bid Team? You can start off by browsing through the Academy for short courses aimed at turning your Bid Team into Bid Gurus! Every time.
